So what is a necktie..? According to wikipedia a necktie, or simply a tie, is a long piece of cloth, worn usually by men, for decorative purposes around the neck, resting under the shirt collar and knotted at the throat.
A tie is one among the few things that men use for decorative purposes,they are usually worn in offices,in occasions such as weddings,diners,in religious events,in job interviews and in presentations for college students.
Well a tie gives this classy look,gentleman-ish I could say,it shows respect and confidence in a man.But honestly not every dude out there really knows to rock these ties.

FOUR IN HAND NECK TIE.
This is the most common one ,very simple and easy to tie,usually worn in offices and other formal occasions.Most men are aware of this one.Even if this is your favorite you can still try different kind of knots,colors and patterns.
SKINNY NECK TIE.
These are almost similar to the four in hand type except that they got a thinner look and maybe more fashionable.They look great on jeans and would look more interesting if worn on night outs.
BOW TIES.
These are likely to give you the stylish and classy look.They are multipurpose as the don't choose where to be worn.
CRAVAT
Though not popular but boy this one is a killer. It ranks number one in style (my point of view). It is typically pinned rather than knotted.And usually worn on formal occasions.
